Treatment of TNF-α alone resulted in a significant decrease for LXR-α and PXR mRNA expression. Rapamycin treatment by itself causes a significant reduction in both Lxr-α and Pxr. However, pre-treatment with rapamycin followed by TNF-α stimulation caused a significant increase in induction for both LXR-α and PXR mRNA.
